Recap of the 2018 Matthew Farrell 5K, June 2nd in Urbana, IL.

THANK YOU, thank you, thank you!

What an incredible inauguration for the Matthew C. Farrell 5k fundraiser. The weather was the mildest it has been in weeks (near perfect for a 5K) and personally, I think we had someone looking out for us on that...

We deeply appreciate everyone who came out to participate, donate, volunteer and reconnect. As much as this race is about Matt and raising money for a good cause in his name, it is, of course, about YOU and our community. We hope that you had as much of a blast as we did!

A HUGE shout out to all of our volunteers for donating their time and coming out to ensure this event ran smoothly. You all are the BEST and we could not have done this without you.

Also, a special thank you to the following organizations for their generous contributions:

Body N’ Sole (Thanks Jed)

Common Ground Food Co-op (Thanks Joanne, Lisa and Wyatt)

Impact Physical Therapy (Thanks Christopher Miller)

Urbana Park District

Champaign Park District (Thanks Zoe)

We are super pumped for next year’s race and have started planning for it literally hours after everyone crossed the finish line. With that said, we would appreciate you taking the time to fill out one of two short surveys attached below (one for volunteers and one for participants). The results will help us best understand your experience and enable us to plan next year.

If you registered for the race but were unable to attend for any reason, please reply to this email to coordinate a time to pick up your gift bag. They will be available at the Champaign Park District office, 1311 W Church St. (The Hayes Center).

Stay tuned for our winter fundraiser and details for next year’s 5k fun run and walk!

Thanks again! We appreciate you. On Saturday, without a doubt, we made Matt proud.
